From the moment that we landed at Heathrow Airport, to our departure a week later, Nathan and Laura treated us with kindness, warmth, and the loveliest vacation. At the airport, our luggage was handled and we all drove comfortably to the cottage by Nathan. Upon arrival to the cottage, we were greeted with a huge smile, beverages and treats by Laura. The home and gardens are beautifully designed and impeccably cared for. The back garden overlooks the pastures and large trees. Our bedroom looked out over the garden and the pasture, was comfortable and provided plenty of space for us to unpack and feel cozy.
Laura’s cooking is as fine as most restaurants we have experienced, catering to all our dietary and tastebud needs. She loves to cook and it is apparent by how yummy everything is.
The cottage provides various places, indoors and out, to sit comfortably, play croquet, read by the fire, or doze in the sunshine.
Laura and Nathan provided us with a variety of adventures to choose from and everyday, we were escorted by Nathan to our chosen destinations: local festival at Shaftsbury, the charming small villages of the Cotswalds, the historic city of Bath, the geologic wonder of the Jurassic Coast, Stonehenge, and the oceanside city of Portsmouth to visit the Naval Museaum. We also were provided with ebikes so we could tour the verdant surrounding area whenever we wanted. In order not to get lost, Nathan made specific maps of the roads to follow, so we were able to avoid highly trafficked areas.
Laura and Nathan are the essence of graciousness and our experience was wonderful in everyway. This for us was a memorable experience which we would all recommend highly.
