Sherborne is a delightful market town and really does offer something for everyone.
We can start our day at the ‘Old’ castle, which was built in the 12th century, however it is now a ruin after being destroyed in the civil war .
Depending on time we can make the short hop into the town centre of Sherborne which has a very impressive abbey situated right in the heart of the community, it has a wonderful high street to wander up and down in which you can browse in the local shops and stop for a nice cup of tea or coffee.
Finally we can then move onto the ‘new’ castle which is a 16th century Tudor mansion built by Sir Walter Raleigh. Here you can explore the interior of the house and enjoy a relaxing walk around the lake and gardens.
